Cleaning the Dirt- North Central high school students are working on a multiyear project aimed at using native fungi to remove toxic PCB’s from our region’s soil. With the project beginning a few years ago, the founding students have graduated, and have passed the torch to current NC students.
Long Journey Home - In 1996 the collection known as the Spalding Allen collection was returned to the Nez Perce tribe after they agreed to pay over $600,000 to a Ohio historical association. Now 25 years later the collection has been renamed, and restitution from the same Ohio group has taken place. Share in the twists and turns of the former Spalding Allen collection, and its rightful home on the Nez Perce Indian reservation.
The Idahoans- North Idaho artists, Jeff Weir and Tanden Launder are pals that create amazing art that, while different in style, celebrates the west in the people, wildlife and history. Jeff an oil painter, and Tanden a mixed media artist both stay close to their roots of being two friends, raised in Northern Idaho.
